San Francisco | Hidden fun stuff in the Asian Art Museum vol.1

My favorite museum to roam around in SF is the SFMOMA, but seldom do I visit the Asian Art Museum. It always feels a bit serious, seeing so many artifacts here that originally shouldn't be. It gives me mixed feelings. However, a friend who was visiting SF highly recommended the Asian Art Museum 🖼️. After one visit, I found worthwhile pieces of art indeed. Afterward, I started volunteering there occasionally. 🌟 Wanna share a fun activity. It could make the museum experience more interesting for both kids and adults, and spark everyone's curiosity. Head to the information desk/coat check and ask for the 👇 "Art Explorer Cards". These are available in both English and Chinese. Follow the cards to locate specific pieces of art in the museum. Use your imagination to interact with the art in unexpected ways 💯. 👋 At the end of your visit, kids can get a souvenir at the info desk. Inside the bag are cool items like notebooks, colored pencils, coloring cards, and more featuring the museum's mascot, Reina. *️⃣ The first Sunday of every month features a Storytelling Tour. 👶11am for pre-K audiences, and 🧒1pm for all ages. Spend weekends at the museum. Foster your artistic sense and let your imagination run wild 💭. P.S. There's also a set of jade artifact cards. Ask if you're interested. 📍Asian Art Museum, 200 Larkin St, San Francisco 🅿️ Parking Info: Weekdays + Saturdays at the Civic Center Public Garage, Sundays at the UC Law SF Parking with a flat #AsianArtMuseum #HiddenGems #ArtExplorerCards #MuseumFun #ImaginationUnleashed #SundayStorytelling #JadeArtifacts #SanFrancisco

Europa Deli - Euro-style boxed meal in the vast rural US

Checking in from Orinda. This post is just for the locals to have a look! It's a bit of an exaggeration to call it "the big countryside", but compared to Silicon Valley, the heart of the universe, this place is definitely remote! Pleasantly surprised to find that Orinda, despite being a wealthy town, has pretty low living costs! For instance, Europa, a European-style kitchen in downtown, sells boxed meals for only around $13.xx~$15.xx. Our family of two adults and one child bought two meals and we were filled up! The food tasted okay. Although the pasta was a bit loose, the quantity was plentiful. The paired mashed potatoes were flavoursome and pretty good! What really needs to be praised is their venue size — it's huge, with high ceilings and large windows. A place that sells boxed meals has the vibe of a college cafeteria, which is pretty amusing. 📍Europa 64 Moraga Way, Orinda, CA 94563 #EuropaDeli #EuroStyleBoxedMeal #OrindaEats #AffordableFood #FamilyFriendly #HiddenGems #EuropeanFlavors #SpaciousVenue

Bay Area Cuisine | This Hidden Japanese Restaurant has been Discovered 😍

🍣 Hamano 📍 1332 Castro St, San Francisco, CA 94114 - The official description calls it a lowkey Japanese restaurant and it was indeed discovered! Before, while doing aromatherapy candles and eating Russian cuisine nearby, I accidentally came across this really inconspicuous Japanese restaurant. I thought it was just ordinary home-cooked food, but it turns out they offer omakase according to their official website. With a curious mindset, I made a reservation. It turned out to be a hidden gem of a place! - Among the few restaurants that serve a lot of Japanese food, this is one of them. It has a simple, slightly old-fashioned decor style. There are very few bar seats, only for customers who reserve omakase. The head chef is quite efficient, managing everything and chatting with the customers cheerfully. - The food is truly homely with a touch of finesse, and the ingredients are unexpectedly delicious! Moreover, many of the ingredients are directly imported from Japan, which I never expected to find here! The spot prawns are incredibly fresh! I can have three portions of Hokkaido abalone! And this crab, it's truly beautiful and generously served! - Towards the end, I was really full, very full, very full. The slices of raw fish on each nigiri were really big and substantial. Such sincerity! I would definitely come back again! Lastly, I was pleasantly surprised by their udon noodles. I never expected them to be so delicious. I could just come here next time just for a bowl of udon noodles.🙂 #BayAreaLiving #WeekendInBayArea #GlobalFoodieSquad #JapaneseFoodExploration #JapaneseCuisine #Foodie #WeekendExploration #HiddenGems #APlaceThatHasBeenDiscovered #Exploration #BayAreaCuisine
