High wind warning: Power shutoffs possible

Strong winds and dry conditions are putting much of the Front Range on alert—Xcel Energy says some neighborhoods could lose power Wednesday to prevent wildfires. If you’re in Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, Jefferson, Larimer, or Weld counties, keep flashlights handy and charge your devices. Xcel’s safety settings mean even a tree branch brushing a line could trigger an outage until crews check things out. 😉‼️Mother Nature’s got jokes today. I-25 and I-80 are still closed to light high-profile vehicles as those wicked Wyoming winds keep tryin’ to knock folks sideways. Troopers responded to multiple blow-overs in the same spot today — mile marker 279 on I-80 in Carbon County, about seven miles from Arlington. No serious injuries so far, but it’s rough out there.
