kristin69+FollowThe Gift Card Scheme at the Grocery StoreThe weekend before Thanksgiving, I went to the grocery store for pumpkin pie ingredients. In the gift card section, I saw two people whispering suspiciously. They were discussing a “gift card for cash” trick: Buy gift cards using SNAP, then sell them for 60% cash and use the money to buy alcohol and cigarettes. A store employee later told me they’ve already reported it because it’s becoming more common. People who abuse SNAP not only break the law but also make families like mine look undeserving of help. It’s collateral damage. #SNAPGiftCardFraud #HolidaySeason #RealLifeIssues #CommunityVoice42Share
