how did i survive 22 years without a backyard to plant tomatoes?

I still can’t believe I finally have a backyard. After years of squeezing plants onto tiny windowsills, I get to dig in real dirt! The first thing I did was plant tomatoes. I used to think you needed a green thumb, but honestly, it’s all about good soil and lots of sun. I started with cherry tomatoes because they’re super forgiving. Every morning, I check for new sprouts. Seeing those little green leaves pop up makes me so happy. Watering early in the day keeps the leaves healthy, and I learned to mulch around the base to keep the soil moist. My hands get dirty, but it’s worth it. Watching my garden grow is the best part of coming home. If you’ve got even a patch of earth, give it a try—you’ll never look at store-bought veggies the same way again. #gardening #homeownership #tomatoes #backyardlife

Should I Pay For Half Of My Neighbor's Fence Staining Cost?

My neighbor is a pain to deal with and has been talking smack about us on the neighborhood Facebook page. We have not been approached directly about this issue but she is now alleging we owe her half the cost of some fence repairs and staining. She says she and the previous owners agreed to a half and half split of maintaining it. Nothing of this sort was discussed with us at closing. For context the fence is two sided for most of their front yard. The only part of the fence that is on our side is our two gates. Once their back yard starts the fence becomes a shared fence separating our backyards. We have not seen any repairs on the fence in the three years we have lived here. I am just trying to get some advice before she approaches us about staining the front of her fence. #NeighborProblems #Fence #HOA #HomeOwnership #AdviceNeeded #Suburbs #Etiquette #LegalAdvice

How do people remember all the house upkeep stuff?

I’ve been in my house for two years and I feel like I’m constantly behind on things I’m supposed to be doing. HVAC filters… is it monthly, every three months, or whenever you happen to think about it in the shower? Gutter cleaning. It's supposed to be twice a year but I only remember when the rain starts pouring over the sides. 😵😡 Water heater flush. Apparently that’s a real thing and not just a scam. Smoke detector batterie got a nice 3am alarm last month to remind me. 🙂 And last week I paid $300 to fix my dryer because no one told me you’re supposed to clean the lint from inside the vent once a year, not just the little filter in front. I’ve tried setting phone reminders but they get buried under work stuff. My old man always just knew when things needed doing. I’m starting to think there’s a whole maintenance instinct I somehow skipped. #HomeOwnership #DIY #LifeAdvice #HousekeepingHacks #Adulting #HelpNeeded #HouseHack
