lolson+FollowHog behavior tips: hunt smarter, not harder 🐗Noticed some patterns while tracking hogs lately—figured I’d share. Sows and piglets usually move in groups (sounders), but those big solo roamers? Might be a mature boar worth tracking. Makes a difference when deciding how to set up. Anyone else noticed this in their hunts? #hunting #HogHunting #WildBoar #HuntingTips #SounderStrategy80Share
Manuel Bright+FollowI tried every hog hunting method this year 🐗After trying everything from blinds to baiting this past year, figured I'd share what's been working for me and what hasn't. 1️⃣ Spot and stalk in open areas - good binos are crucial for glassing before moving in 2️⃣ Corn baiting brings multiple hogs where it's legal, but they get wise fast 3️⃣ Stand hunting near wallows requires serious patience but produces consistently 4️⃣ Really considering hog dogs after seeing what my buddy's trained pack can do Seems like each method has its place depending on terrain and situation. What method has worked best for you? #hunting #hoghunting #wildboar #huntingdogs225Share
lolson+FollowOff-season rabbit hunting keeps me sharp 🐰Been hitting the rabbit woods during deer off-season and loving it! These little speedsters are way trickier than people think. A few things have helped me: - Focus on early morning and late evening hunts during summer heat - avoid midday when it's too hot - Target thick cover like brush piles, overgrown fence rows, and shaded field edges where they escape the heat - Use the zig-zag walking pattern to kick them up from cover - Keep your shotgun ready at port arms - once they bolt, you've got maybe 2 seconds to shoot! The fast shooting really helps with my reaction time for other game. Anyone else use rabbit hunting for off-season practice? #hunting #RabbitHunting #OffSeasonHunting #SmallGameHunting2224Share
paulcarol+FollowWhen’s the best time to dig a deer waterhole? 💦🦌Put in my first waterhole this spring, right after a few days of rain. Soil was soft enough to dig without heavy equipment, and I figured the earlier the better so deer could find it before summer dried things out. I’ve noticed more movement near that area already, especially in the evenings. Hoping it’ll help build a more huntable pattern by early season. Curious—anyone else have success with waterholes? #hunting #DeerHunting #WildlifeManagement #HuntingPrep55Share
paulcarol+FollowWhy hunters love animals more than you think 🏹Ethical hunters do more than just hunt—we fund conservation, restore habitats, and pass down responsible practices. Groups like NWTF are proof we’re often the first to step up for wildlife. Thoughts? #hunting #HuntersForConservation #WildlifeProtection #EthicalHunting110Share
lolson+FollowWhen do you start scouting whitetails? 🦌Is spring too early or fall too late for deer scouting? Trying to get ahead of other hunters but not sure on timing. #hunting #whitetailscouting #deerhunting #huntingtips1610Share
jortiz+Follow🦌 First year hunting in SC- here's my planNew hunter in SC here! Figured I'd share my approach so far: Started by picking my game zone, then e-scouted using Garmin Explore app (free version rocks). Made several actual scouting trips to find tracks, bedding areas, and droppings. Now I've got solid spots mapped out for deer and bear season! Plan is to hunt hard, then reflect after season ends on what worked and what didn't for next year. Any other newbies doing similar prep? #hunting #FirstTimeHunter #SCOutdoors #DeerSeason #HuntingPrep00Share
paulcarol+FollowWhy I'm ditching OnX for hunting 🗺️Absolutely hate using OnX! Clunky interface, slow loading, and my downloaded maps only work half the time. So unreliable when you actually need it in the field. What hunting apps do you guys actually recommend?📍 #hunting #OnXHunt #HuntingApps #HuntingTech1927Share
Manuel Bright+FollowHunters care more about conservation than non-hunters! Surprised? Those who hunt often invest more time, money and passion in preserving wildlife than anyone else. Agree or disagree? #hunting #HuntingTruth #WildlifePreservation2442105Share
lolson+Follow🐿️ Best time to chase squirrels in summer?Just figured out the secret to successful squirrel hunting this summer! Early morning (first 2 hours after sunrise) and late evening (last 2 hours before sunset) are absolute GOLD. That's when they're most active and you'll have the best luck. Been testing this timing for weeks and the difference is night and day compared to midday hunts. Who else has found this to be true? #hunting #SquirrelHunting #HuntingTips #SummerHunting250Share
