Japanese Chicken Katsu Curry with Hokkaido-Shaped Rice: A Culinary Masterpiece 🍛

Japanese chicken katsu curry stands out for its precision and balance. The crispness of the panko-breaded chicken contrasts perfectly with the smooth, savory curry sauce. Today, the rice was shaped like Hokkaido, which added a thoughtful touch to the presentation. The rice held its form well, indicating proper technique—neither too sticky nor too dry. The curry itself had a deep, layered flavor, likely from a slow simmer with onions and a blend of spices. Each bite delivered a satisfying crunch followed by the mellow heat of the sauce. The portioning was just right, ensuring the rice absorbed enough curry without becoming soggy. Attention to detail like this makes a meal memorable. The visual of Hokkaido-shaped rice is more than just a gimmick; it shows respect for both the dish and the diner. This approach elevates a simple meal into something worth appreciating, both for its taste and its craftsmanship. #Cooking Techniques #JapaneseCuisine #KatsuCurry #FoodPresentation #Food

🏮Osen IzakayaTranslation: LA Japanese Cuisine | My most favorite Izakaya

🌟 LA Japanese Cuisine | My Favorite Izakaya 🍣🍶 📍 Osen Izakaya, located at 2903 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026, is a must-visit spot for all foodies in LA. Trust me, this place will never disappoint! 😍 ✨ Here are some highlights from my recent visit: **Unforgettable Dishes** - Toro uni bowl 🍚: The presentation is stunning, and the uni (sea urchin) is fresh and sweet. The toro (fatty tuna) could use a bit more seasoning, but overall, it's still incredibly flavorful. Who doesn't love a generous portion of toro? 😋 - Miso crab salmon 🦀🍣: This dish is a true flavor explosion! The tender and fresh salmon wrapped around a generous amount of crab meat will leave you wanting more. It's a heavenly combination that will satisfy your taste buds. ❤️ **Irresistible Nigiri** - We ordered uni, sweet shrimp, and scallop nigiri 🍣. Each piece was incredibly fresh and packed with flavor. The uni was impressively large, the scallop had a refreshing taste, and the sweet shrimp was a delightful balance of sweetness and richness. It's a seafood lover's dream come true! 🌊 - Omakase bowl 🍚: Prepare for a feast for your eyes and taste buds! The omakase bowl features large uni, fish roe, and seasoned fish paste. The flavors mesh perfectly, and in my opinion, it surpasses the toro uni bowl in terms of taste. Don't miss this one if you're a fan of uni! 😍 **Mouthwatering Yakitori** - We tried chicken skin, chicken wings, chicken cartilage, and beef tongue yakitori 🍢. Each skewer was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning. The beef tongue deserves a special mention as it was incredibly tender and full of flavor. The chicken skin was crispy, the cartilage had a satisfying chew, and the chicken wings were small but packed with great taste. Make sure to make a reservation in advance, as this place tends to get crowded on weekends. 📞 Enjoy your delicious journey at Osen Izakaya! 🤤 #LAEats #JapaneseCuisine #FoodieFaves #LosAngelesFood #OsenIzakaya #FoodieLife #FoodGasm #YummyOptions #MustTry #JapaneseFlavors

Bay Area Food | This New Japanese Restaurant Only Seats 6 Guests Every Night 🍣

🍣 KEN 📍 252 Divisadero St, San Francisco, CA 94117 · ▫️ It's not open for dine-in for long, so make sure to come and try it. Many years ago, this location was another sushi restaurant called ijji, which I also really liked, but unfortunately it closed. Now the place has the exact same interior, giving me a sense of nostalgia. · ▫️ The head chef came from kusakabe and has previously worked in various well-known sushi restaurants. Right before the pandemic, he took over this place and opened his own sushi restaurant. When dine-in was not allowed, they offered takeout (which they still do). Now dine-in is available, but it's usually just one round of guests each night, with only 6 seats, so reservations are not easy to make. · ▫️ The menu for the evening is $175 per person, and it's quite filling. It includes four types of sashimi, 8 pieces of nigiri, ankimo rice bowl, a hand roll, and a bowl of steamed rice. The side dishes and steamed dishes in between are all quite good, with fresh flavors. The chef has great skill in marinating different types of fish and knows how to handle the different textures. The taste tends to maintain the original flavors without excessive seasoning. · ▫️ Due to the small number of guests, the chef takes great care of each customer. It's like having a large chat session. The customers at our neighboring table that night were also food enthusiasts, and we recommended many restaurants to each other. Besides food, there was also information exchange, which was a delightful experience. #BayAreaWeekend #BayAreaLife #LifeDuringPandemic #BayAreaFood #JapaneseCuisine #ExploringJapaneseFood #HiddenGem #FoodExploration
