If William becomes king—God forbid, following Charles's passing rather than abdication—his support within the monarchy might be surprisingly limited. Queen Elizabeth had her mother, sister, and husband for backing. William, on the other hand, seemingly relies mainly on Kate.
He no longer has his brother or mother. Camilla, while tolerated, doesn't seem like a source of deep reliance. Is he particularly close to Anne or Edward? Andrew, of course, is a non-starter due to his controversies.
