The Lord Is My Shepherd

The Lord Is My Shepherd, I Shall Not Want “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” — Psalm 23:1 (KJV) When David wrote those words, he wasn’t living in comfort or ease. He was on the run, surrounded by danger, and still he had the confidence to say, I shall not want. That’s faith that refuses to waver even when the ground shakes. So what does it really mean? To say the Lord is my shepherd is to say, “God leads me when I can’t lead myself.” A shepherd knows when his sheep are hungry, tired, scared, or wandering too far. He doesn’t wait for them to find the path back; He goes after them. That’s how God works with us. He doesn’t sit at a distance watching us struggle—He moves toward us, calls our name, and guides us to safety. And I shall not want doesn’t mean life will be perfect or that we’ll never face need. It means that when God is truly leading, we lack nothing essential for the journey. He supplies peace when chaos is near, strength when we’re weak, and direction when confusion tries to take over. So many people chase things—money, approval, or comfort—trying to fill an emptiness that only trust in the Shepherd can satisfy. The world says you need more, but Psalm 23 whispers, you already have what you need in Him. When God is your Shepherd: You rest knowing He’s watching the path ahead. You trust that even in dark valleys, His rod and staff protect and comfort. You stop comparing your blessings to others, because you know your portion is perfect for you. If you’ve been worrying about what’s next, take a breath and remember: the Shepherd never loses a sheep. You may wander, but you’re never forgotten. So today, instead of asking God for more, thank Him for being enough. #ReconnectWithGod #LetGoAndLetGod #GodsProtection #TrustInGod #GodProvides

THROW IT TO GOD — He Knows How to Carry What You Can’t

📜 The Word says… “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7 “Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken.” — Psalm 55:22 🌿 What’s in your mind? Are you tired of trying to hold everything together — your worries, your plans, your people — like one wrong move could make it all fall apart? What if the answer isn’t to hold tighter, but to throw it to God? What if peace began not with control, but with release? 📖 About the verse Both David and Peter wrote these verses under heavy pressure. David was betrayed by a close friend; Peter was writing to believers facing persecution. Each learned the same truth — God doesn’t expect us to manage every burden, only to cast them on Him. The word “cast” means to THROW with force. It’s not gentle; it’s decisive. God invites you to take the weight off your shoulders and throw it onto His. You weren’t created to carry what only He can hold. 🌾 Story A father and son went hiking up a mountain. Halfway up, the boy grew tired and said, “Dad, my backpack’s too heavy.” The father knelt down and said, “Give it to me.” The boy hesitated — he didn’t want to burden his dad. But when he finally handed it over, his steps grew lighter and his joy returned. The father smiled and said, “I wanted you to enjoy the journey, not just survive it.” That’s how God sees us. He doesn’t want us crushed under life’s weight. He wants us free enough to walk beside Him with peace and strength. 🙏 Let’s Pray Father, thank You for caring about every burden I carry. Into your Strong hands, I throw my ALL my worries, fears and pain. When I’m tempted to take them back, remind me You’re still holding them — and me.. Amen. Thank you for reading and following.
