MDT’s Exit: End of an Era or Progress?

Microsoft just pulled the plug on Microsoft Deployment Toolkit after 20+ years. Existing setups will limp along, but no more updates or security patches. Microsoft is nudging everyone toward cloud-based Windows Autopilot or on-prem Configuration Manager, but neither offers a seamless upgrade.
