My 69-year-old dad wants me to give him a makeover 🤸

Hi everyone, my 69-year-old dad wants me to give him a makeover. He's not exactly unstylish now, but he wants to step up his game, and he's letting me pick out some new outfits and even a new haircut. Right now, he's very "Tommy Bahama chic". That means lots of button-downs, t-shirts, jeans, nice cargo shorts, slip-on shoes, loafers, Nikes, and baseball caps. He's 6'2", has a bit of a belly, thin arms and legs, and is bald on top with curly hair in the back. He's retired and lives in inland Northern California, so it gets super hot in the summer and stays around the 50s in winter. He wears an XL. We're going shopping in person, probably at Nordstrom or a big mall. He's a bit nervous about places like Hugo Boss, thinking their clothes are only for super slim people. Can anyone throw out some tips or inspiration for men's clothes that would look good on someone his age and build? Even a celebrity who dresses stylishly in a warm climate would be amazing.
