PJ Washington Likely to Sign Extension with Mavericks

According to Marc Stein, an extension between PJ Washington and the Dallas Mavericks is “likely.” Washington becomes eligible this Friday for a new four-year deal worth just under $90M. At 27, he’s no longer an automatic starter after Dallas landed Cooper Flagg with the No. 1 pick, but he remains a valued piece. If the extension is signed, Washington would be ineligible to be traded for six months, meaning he’s expected to spend Flagg’s entire rookie year in Dallas.
