Am I wrong for wanting to quit my new job?
I started a new job at a law firm just 2 months ago, and at first, everything seemed great. I thought I could see myself staying for a while. But then things took a turn.
My boss decided to start using Teams to monitor our status. At first, I didn’t want her to see when I was “offline,” so I set my status to unavailable. Big mistake. Less than 5 minutes later, I was flooded with texts and phone calls asking why I wasn’t “online.” 😤
Now, we’re required to have Teams open at all times and show as “available” — even when working from home. It honestly feels like micromanagement. On top of that, my boss lives in another state, never comes to the office, but expects us to be there. And when an attorney is gone for a week, she refuses to let us work from home.
All of this combined has made me reconsider if I want to stay. I’ve already started applying to new jobs.
Am I overreacting, or do you think I have valid reasons to be unhappy? Would love to hear your thoughts! 💬👇
