Giannis “trade request” might just be leverage — and the Bucks are already “big-game hunting”

The Giannis noise feels less like “I’m gone” and more like “get me help — now.” According to Jake Fischer, Milwaukee is doing everything it can to convince Giannis to stay, and one rival GM even said the Bucks have convinced him “they’re going big-game hunting.” Fischer links Milwaukee to names like Zach LaVine and Jerami Grant, with past interest in Andrew Wiggins and Dejounte Murray, and sources saying Marcus Smart appeals to them. The catch: the Bucks don’t have a clean asset chest, so any “help” probably comes with big contracts and ugly fit questions. But if Giannis’ real message is “prove you’re serious,” then these are exactly the kinds of swings Milwaukee has to explore. #Bucks #Giannis #NBATrades #NBARumors #NBA

Adam Silver: NBA will decide on expansion “sometime in 2026” — Vegas and Seattle on deck

Per Adam Silver, the NBA is finally putting a rough timeline on expansion. Speaking before the NBA Cup Final in Vegas, Silver said the league is working with current teams, running the numbers, and “sometime in 2026 we’ll make a determination” on whether to expand past 30 teams. He specifically name-checked Las Vegas and Seattle as the two main markets the league is studying, while adding that they’ve looked at other cities too. The NBA hasn’t expanded since 2004 (Charlotte Bobcats), and Seattle has been without a team since the Sonics moved to OKC in 2008. If/when expansion happens, we’re talking about: Two new teams (most likely) A massive expansion fee split among owners An expansion draft that could shake up a lot of rosters If the NBA actually pulls the trigger, where do you want the next teams — Vegas, Seattle, or somewhere else? #NBA #AdamSilver #NBAExpansion #Seattle #LasVegas #NBADiscussion

Knicks finally hang a new banner for Spike Lee’s lifetime of fandom

Spike Lee has literally spent his whole life staring at Knicks banners. He was a kid when New York won titles in 1970 and 1973 — the last time the franchise hung an NBA championship flag in Madison Square Garden. Over the years he went so deep into his fandom that he even tracked down and bought the original 1970 championship banner that used to hang in the Garden, calling it the Knicks’ “Holy Grail.” Now, after more than half a century, the Knicks finally raised something new: the 2025 NBA Cup banner, after beating Wemby’s Spurs 124–113 in Vegas. Say what you want about the NBA Cup, but for a guy who’s been courtside through every high and low, “Spike Lee waited 53 years for the Knicks to hang a new flag” feels pretty special. #Knicks #SpikeLee #NBACup #NewBanner #NBA #NewYork #Spikelee
