Seoul’s Lights Didn’t Make Me Brighter

Seoul is all noise and color—LED signs stacked over each other, alleys pulsing with late-night karaoke. I thought I’d feel electric too, like the city’s energy would fill the parts of me that felt dim back home. But after the third night wandering Hongdae, the neon started to blur. I realized I was just another face in the glow, not changed, just illuminated differently. I took a photo of myself under a pink sign and never posted it. Sometimes you travel to feel more alive.
