What No One Tells You About Wandering Alone in HK

First time in Hong Kong, and I’m alone for a day and a half—just enough time to get lost, not enough to pretend I belong. My plans are loose: eat until I can’t, wander markets, maybe sweat through a hike if jet lag lets me. Everyone says you don’t need an Octopus card anymore; Visa works, cash is easy. I’m not sure if that makes things simpler or just less real. I’ll land, drop my bag at Park Lane, maybe find spicy crab or goose, then walk Victoria Park until the city feels less foreign. Next day: a tram tour, noodles, milk tea, then nothing. I keep thinking I should fill every hour, but maybe it’s better to leave space for the city to surprise me. Lantau, museums, high tea—maybe. Or maybe I’ll just ride the ferry and watch the skyline, anonymous and unhurried. #SoloTravelTruth #CityWanderer #NoPlansNeeded #Travel
