Picnic Perfection Isn’t a Place
Karersee looks like a screensaver: turquoise water, pine shadows, the Dolomites jagged and unreal. I brought bread, cheese, and a camera, thinking I’d finally have that movie-scene picnic.
But the grass was damp, my sandwich got soggy, and every photo felt like a lie. There were crowds, drone buzz, and a low-grade ache that I wasn’t doing it right. I kept waiting for the moment to feel perfect. It never did.
I left with crumbs on my jeans and a photo I never posted. Sometimes the best view is the one you remember, not the one you try to capture.
