Annual Perfume Picks 2.0 – Office Edition 🧴📅
I did a “favorite perfumes of the year” list last year — but that was all student-era scents. No need to worry about office vibes or “will this choke someone in the elevator.” This year, it’s all about scents that are safe for work but still feel like me.
1️⃣ Chanel No.5 Eau de Toilette
Childhood dream bottle. Powdery, elegant, old-money energy. People say it smells like cologne water (they’re not wrong), but once it settles, it’s clean and classy in the best way. Low projection but somehow always… there. My go-to for commutes and events. It never offends.
2️⃣ Le Labo – Another 13
Still my holy grail. Smells like freshly dried sheets + skin — warm, soft, addictive. People always ask what it is. I even got the matching body lotion. If I could only keep one, it’d be this. Works amazing with a blazer or structured coat.
3️⃣ Chanel – Paris–Venise
Not the trendiest in the Les Eaux line, but my favorite. First smelled it in a Chanel store in Causeway Bay — instant love. It’s one of the only floral scents I like. The iris and pink pepper tone down the sweetness, making it clean, mysterious, a little flirty. I mix it with No.5 a lot in summer.
4️⃣ Aesop – Karst
Green, fresh, like brushing past leaves on a forest trail. Not super formal but perfect for “midweek burnout.” I always wear this on summer Wednesdays — something about it feels like taking a deep breath after class.
5️⃣ Jo Malone – Silver Birch & Lavender
A guy friend introduced me to this one. Totally unisex. Feels like walking through a cold winter night in a huge coat, face tucked in a scarf — warm and comforting. Rare for Jo Malone to be this deep and cozy. Pairs perfectly with wool.
