Trying to Keep Up in Lofoten
Stornappstinden, Lofoten. I thought hiking with locals would mean slow, scenic breaks—maybe a few jokes about the weather. Instead, I found myself trailing behind thirty Norwegians who moved like the mountain was a sidewalk. No one waited. I ran. My lungs burned. My pride did too.
At the top, the view was ridiculous. I was too tired to care. Everyone else was already unpacking sandwiches, laughing, like it was just another Tuesday. I pretended to admire the scenery, but mostly I wondered if anyone else felt out of place, or if it was just me, sweating and silent, trying not to look lost.
