Why My Family Thinks My Pet is Hilarious
Everyone in my family loves Mochi, my goofy, fluffy dog. But during a family dinner the other night, my girlfriend's dad unexpectedly blurted out that Mochi looks like a beggar, with his droopy eyes and mismatched fur colors. His comment caught me off guard and became an instant source of laughs around the table.
It’s tough because I love Mochi just the way he is, droopy eyes and all. His unique look is part of his charm! He’s a rescue, and yes, he may not have the shiny coat of a show dog, but his heart is pure gold. It was all playful ribbing, no doubt, but it made me a little self-conscious. I can’t help but wonder why appearances seem to weigh so heavily on people’s opinions.
I am curious though, am I being overly sensitive about this? Anyway, Mochi will still get his snacks and cuddle time regardless. He’s perfect in his imperfections. #PetShaming #LoveYourPet #MochiTales
