Ever feel like you’re a guest in your own house? That’s me, every month, when my husband’s seven-year-old son visits. We’ve been married for over three years, and while I love my husband, I can’t shake the dread that creeps in before his son arrives. It’s not that the boy is bad—he just won’t talk to me, and we have zero connection.
Now that I’m 30 weeks pregnant, these feelings are only getting stronger. I’ve tried to open up to my husband, but he just doesn’t get it. He’s secretive about his ex, always hiding texts and calls, which makes me feel even more like an outsider.
