Called Out for Being 'Privileged' at Work—Now I'm Lost! 😳💼

Hey there, I need to get something off my chest. Recently, a coworker called me out for being "privileged" during a team meeting, and honestly, it stung. I know I have advantages—my family immigrated here, and while we struggled, I still ended up with opportunities my parents never had. But now, at my job in Chicago, it feels like everyone is quick to judge anyone who’s worked their way up. I get it—I have a good salary, and my goal is to be financially independent one day. But isn’t that what we’re all working toward? Why is it suddenly wrong to want more security for myself and my family? I’m really struggling with the guilt and the tension this has created at work. Has anyone else faced this? How do you handle being labeled as privileged when you know you’ve worked hard for everything?
