Glamour and Jerky: Kerry Washington Reveals She Ate in a Met Gala Bathroom Due to Severe Allergies Behind the dazzling gowns and A-list glamour of the Met Gala lies a reality for some attendees that is far from luxurious. Kerry Washington recently pulled back the curtain, revealing that during the fashion world's biggest night, she was forced to eat her own snacks in a bathroom stall to avoid a medical emergency. The Scandal star made the surprising confession during a November 20 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, detailing the extensive list of severe food allergies that make catered events a minefield. When host Jimmy Kimmel asked about her dietary restrictions, Washington replied, “Oh, God, how much time do you have? It’s really sad.” She then outlined a daunting list of allergens that includes: All seafood (not just shellfish) Sesame (seeds and oil) All nuts except peanuts and almonds Mango MSG With such common and high-end ingredients off-limits, the beautifully plated meals at galas like the Met become inedible and dangerous. Kimmel noted the difficulty, to which Washington confirmed her practical, if undignified, solution. “At all these fancy galas, when they give you plates of food, like at the Met Ball, I’m eating jerky in a bathroom somewhere,” she shared. The image of the impeccably dressed actress secretly eating jerky from her clutch in a restroom starkly contrasts with the public perception of the opulent event. Her story highlights the unseen challenges and necessary precautions that come with managing serious health conditions, even on the red carpet. It’s a reminder that behind the celebrity gloss, the need for safety and a simple snack trumps all. “The Hidden Medicaid Rule Behind the Shutdown: What Section 2141 Really Means for Legal Immigrants”

#SNAPBenefits #SNAPLife #SNAPTalkGovernment #GovernmentShutdown #Medicaid #ImmigrationPolicy #Section2141 #HealthcareDebate #NewsUpdate #Congress #PublicHealth #AffordableCareShutdown Debate Centers on Section 2141 — The Hidden Medicaid Rule Affecting Legal Immigrants As the government shutdown continues, one small section of a large funding bill is getting big attention — Section 2141. This part of the bill deals with Medicaid access for legal immigrants, and it’s become a major sticking point in negotiations between Democrats and Republicans. Section 2141 would restore Medicaid coverage for lawfully present immigrants who lost access years ago. It would also bring back funding for Emergency Medicaid, which helps hospitals care for uninsured patients, including some immigrants in life-or-death situations. Some critics have claimed the proposal gives free health care to undocumented immigrants, but that’s not true. Current law still blocks undocumented immigrants from enrolling in Medicaid or receiving ACA health subsidies. This rule only affects immigrants who are in the U.S. legally and meet federal residency requirements. Democrats say the change is needed to keep hospitals financially stable and make sure families with legal status don’t lose access to basic care. Republicans argue it would raise government costs and open the door to more federal spending on immigrants. The dispute over Section 2141 shows how one small policy detail can play a huge role in a national standoff. With no resolution in sight, millions of Americans are watching to see whether lawmakers can agree on a plan that keeps the government open — and decide what health care access should look like for those who are here legally but not yet citizens.

More women are getting lung cancer without ever smoking. This is so crazy.

I just read something that really shocked me. Doctors are seeing more and more non-smokers, especially women, with lung cancer. It's so scary because when a non-smoker gets diagnosed, it's often in the later stages. It happened to a woman named Katie who was only 37. She went to the doctor for a bad cough, thinking it was just asthma, but it turned out to be stage 4 lung cancer. 😱🤦😦 A cough that won't go away is a subtle symptom that a lot of people probably ignore. It just goes to show you don't have to be a smoker to be at risk. Things like radon gas in homes, air pollution, and even secondhand smoke can all be risk factors. I had no idea before... #HealthAwareness #LungCancer #Health #WomensHealth #PublicHealth
