sgarcia+FollowWhat happened to 3rd spaces? a Meijer parking lot, a coffee shop, or a 24/7 dinerBack when I was younger, there was always a place to go when you didn’t want to be at home but weren’t at work or school. Sometimes it was a Meijer parking lot where half the town seemed to show up, other times it was a coffee shop or a 24/7 diner where you could sit for hours with friends, drink endless coffee and just hang out. These days I leave the house, look for somewhere to land, and it feels like there is nothing. Teens and young adults do not seem to be gathering the way they used to. Maybe it is just me noticing, but the sense of those casual meet-up spots feels like it has disappeared. #CommunityLife #Nostalgia #SocialSpaces #LifeChanges #Discussion #RetroVibes #PublicSpaces #Millennials 20Share
Amber Mcguire+FollowTrain Stations or Times Square?Anyone else notice train stations are starting to look like Times Square? Massive digital ads are taking over, making it almost impossible to find actual train info. People are seriously annoyed—one even said, “I hate that we still accept them.” The ads are so big, you have to squint to spot your departure time! Some cities, like Lyon, are fighting back with ad bans, but for now, it’s just more distractions when you’re already rushing to catch your train. #TrainTravel #PublicSpaces #AdOverload #UrbanLife #TravelProblems #Transportation40Share
Donald Wilson+FollowJust a reminder this place exists—paid for by a voluntary tax increaseThis is what taxes should be for: public spaces, health, and joy. Not endless lawsuits or billionaire parades. Every time I swim here, I’m grateful that at least some of my taxes go to something the community can actually use. #Community #PublicSpaces #PublicPool #Swimming17884Share
Keith Barber+FollowI am so sick of cleaning up after grown adults in public spacesI just had to vent for a minute. I just came from a mall or a public space and I am so sick of cleaning up after grown adults. I get it if a kid drops a snack or something but this is different. This is a grown person making a conscious choice to be lazy and disgusting. It is just so disrespectful to everyone else who uses that space. #Rant #PublicSpaces #Community #Etiquette #HelpNeeded #Discussion #FoodCleanupWars #Food 3710Share
