My contractor's guy tried to stay the night at my new house 😮‍💨

So I hired a contractor to paint the inside of our new home. We have not moved in yet, so the place is completely empty. A couple of guys were working for the day. One of them stayed very late, and I started to get a weird feeling about it. When I left after dinner, I noticed a big duffle bag outside with toothpaste in the side pocket. I texted the contractor to ask what was going on. He said they were just working late to finish the job. Then, he just casually mentioned that he fully intended for the guy to stay the night in the house. I honestly cannot believe he planned for this guy to stay overnight without ever asking or confirming with me. I am completely weirded out by this. Am I overreacting, or is this a huge red flag? This 18-year-old inherited a house but their mom is stealing their money

I just saw a post from an 18-year-old who inherited their dad's house and all his possessions. My heart just sank reading it. The parents divorced a long time ago which meant the mom had no legal claim to any of the inheritance. For some reason the mom has acted like she owns everything. This kid is trying to figure out how to be an adult but their own mother is making it impossible. The mom has access to all of their money and is using it to pay off her own credit cards. The post said she has spent almost thirteen thousand dollars of the kid's inheritance just on herself. She also refuses to teach them anything about how to manage the house or pay bills.
