Richmond-San Rafael Bridge lanes get a big shakeup

Big changes are coming to the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge that could actually make your daily commute a lot smoother. Starting this fall, part of the upper deck will switch between a carpool lane and a bike/pedestrian path, depending on the day and time. If you bike or walk, you’ll still have access on weekends, and there’s even a free shuttle when the path is closed. Early studies say drivers could save up to 19 minutes on their North Bay trip.
