James Allen+Follow12 Times at Coors Field, here’s what I’ve learnedI’ve been to Coors Field maybe a dozen times now, and I’ve basically made it my mission to try different sections every time. Here’s what I’ve learned: If you’re one of those people who dreams of catching a home run - and let’s be real, at Coors that’s actually possible with how many balls fly out - sections 155-160 are your best bet. I’ve seen more foul balls and homers land in that area than anywhere else. But honestly? The 300 level behind home plate is where it’s at for me. Yeah, you’re higher up, but the view of the entire field is perfect, and on a clear day you get those incredible mountain views that make you remember why you love baseball. Someone told me the upper right field corner in the 300s has the absolute best perspective, and after sitting there once, I totally get it. Here’s something most people don’t think about though - if you’re going to a night game, get seats on the first base side. The sunset views are absolutely insane. I took my girlfriend to a game last summer, and she spent half the time taking pictures of the sky instead of watching the game. Can’t even blame her. The altitude definitely makes a difference too. I’ve seen routine fly balls just keep carrying and carrying. Makes every at-bat more exciting when you know anything in the air has a chance. #MLB #Rockies20Share
Catherine Reeves+FollowToglia Sent Down—Rockies Fans Sound OffRockies Nation, what do you make of the front office sending Michael Toglia down? The guy’s leading MLB in strikeouts, sure, but he also flashed serious power last year—especially on the road. Swapping him for Keston Hiura, who’s got his own K issues and isn’t part of the future, feels like a head-scratcher for a 9-48 squad. Would you have given Toglia or even Ryan Ritter another shot? Let’s hear your takes! #Rockies #MLB #Toglia #Sports00Share
Cassandra Reed+FollowDodgers Eye McMahon: Infield Shakeup?Looks like the Dodgers are making headlines again with rumors swirling about a potential blockbuster trade for Rockies’ All-Star Ryan McMahon. With Mad Max struggling at the plate, LA could swap two top prospects for McMahon’s Gold Glove defense and lefty bat. This would be a huge statement move, especially with the Rockies possibly kickstarting their rebuild. Could this be the infield upgrade the Dodgers need for another deep October run? Let’s hear your takes, Blue Crew! #Dodgers #MLBTradeRumors #Rockies #Sports20Share
Timothy Huff MD+FollowDJ LeMahieu: Did He Dodge a Rockies Collapse?Rockies fans, what do you make of DJ LeMahieu’s recent comments about leaving Colorado for the Bronx Bombers? When asked if it was tough to walk away from the Rockies’ promising core after 2018, DJ coolly said, “I feel like I made a pretty good choice. I’m happy to be here.” Looking at the numbers, it’s hard to argue—since DJ joined the Yanks, the Rockies have spiraled while the Pinstripes surged. Did DJ see the writing on the wall, or did the Rockies just lose their spark after he left? #Yankees #Rockies #DJLeMahieu #Sports30Share
Tammy Sellers+FollowCould McMahon Be the Cubs’ Missing Piece? With Matt Shaw sent back to Triple-A, the Cubs’ hot corner is wide open—and rumor has it they’re eyeing Rockies All-Star Ryan McMahon. The $70M man’s power bat could be just what the North Siders need for a playoff push, even if he’s off to a slow start. Would adding McMahon help the Cubs capitalize on their window with Kyle Tucker and Seiya Suzuki? Or should they stick with their top prospect?
