NFL trims the draft clock: 10 ➝ 8 minutes in Round 1

“Two-minute warning” for draft night. The league told teams the first-round clock drops from 10 to 8 minutes beginning with the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh. Idea was floated by Roger Goodell earlier this year; teams are on board to speed up a Round 1 that’s been ending near midnight.
