Make the most of the summer vacation by taking your kid for a Tri-Valley slide & glide trip, starting with roller skating and then ice skating - a total mix of hot and cold thrill!
First stop: The Golden Skate

The business hours of this old skating rink can be a little unpredictable. It's closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and varies Wednesday through Sunday. A hundred question marks: Why did the owner decide on such a complicated schedule? Recommend doing a quick Google search before going to play it safe! We visited on a Wednesday, which had two open sessions: 12:00pm-3:00pm and 8:00pm-10:00pm!
Fee: $17 per person, plus an extra $6 if you need to rent skates, or you can just bring your own! There's a tutorial every Saturday from 1:00pm-1:45pm for $20 - the rink isn't super beginner-friendly, so taking a class could be a good starting point!
Second stop: Dublin Iceland Ice Skating

Just a 15-minute drive from the skating rink, this ice skating center also has offbeat operating hours. It's closed on Saturdays and Sundays and open from 1:00pm-3:15pm/4:15pm/4:30pm Monday through Friday! Given this, I'm starting to think that odd operating hours might be a charming feature of the Tri-Valley's old businesses.
Fee: $10 per person, $5 for skate rental, or bring your own ice skates! 鈿狅笍 Be sure to wear thick, long socks when ice skating to avoid rubbing your ankles raw!
Personal Tip: If you want to tackle both spots in one day, best to come on a Wednesday - skate first from 12:00pm-2:00pm, then ice skate from 2:30pm-4:30pm. Super efficient! If you prefer to take it easy, no rush - you can enjoy each spot slowly, one at a time!
