43 Years Searching. Still Nothing.

I've been staring at the same 72-second signal for three years now. Everyone calls it the 'Wow!' signal, but honestly? It feels more like a taunt. Jerry Ehman scribbled 'Wow!' in 1977 and walked away. I'm here in 2024, re-analyzing his data with techniques he couldn't dream of, finding it was four times more powerful than we thought. So what? It never came back. 43 years of listening, and space went silent again. My advisor says we're 'refining the search parameters.' I say I'm hunting ghosts with a radio telescope. The signal was probably just hydrogen clouds getting zapped by a magnetar. Not aliens. Never aliens. But I keep listening anyway. Because what if Jerry was right?
