More than 3/5 of the 40 million people on food stamps have JOBS. You're not paying for their food, you're paying their employer for their low wages. The rest are either disabled or too elderly to work. Even those who abuse the system do not drain a fraction of the amount of tax dollars that corporate welfare (subsidies) do. We will ALL eventually be unable to work at some point. Not all of us are so fortunate to be in a position to save enough money for retirement or potential disability that prevents us from working any more. Is it really asking too much for a system that relies on our labor, skill and consumption to give a little back? The whole point of living in a society is to benefit as a whole and ensure the survival of everyone. We are allowing the 1% to dictate what the 99% can have. Feeding children, regardless of the circumstances should ALWAYS be a top priority. Hunger is not a policy tool and people are not pawns on some imaginary political chess board. #SNAPBenefits #SNAPLife #SNAPTalk

Everyone, PLEASE get this straight: Funding #SNAP has *NOTHING* to do with the federal government #shutdown. They are two entirely different issues. • The emergency funds to pay SNAP benefits are ALREADY IN the USDA's current, eexistingbudget. The $5 Billion is there, in the #USDA account, ready to be distributed to states. Trump and Republicans refuse to authorize it. Trump even removed the text from the #OMB and USDA websites that say so. • #Georgia is sitting on $21.5 Billion OF OUR tax dollars in surplus and rainy day funds. Gov. Kemp refuses to use any of it to pay for the 1.4 Million Georgians who rely on SNAP to feed their families. His excuse is that if we use tax money to help the people who paid the taxes, it will lead to a chain reaction of other Georgians expecting our state government to help them. What gall! Taxpayers expecting their taxes to benefit taxpayers! #SNAPBenefits #SNAPLife #SNAPTalk
