A Texas City parent is speaking out after years of alleged bullying, teacher misconduct, and administrative failures within local public schools, saying the system has repeatedly failed to protect students.
Nikki Jay, a parent of children enrolled in Texas City ISD, says she has reached a breaking point. She claims school officials ignored repeated reports of bullying and allowed inappropriate behavior by both students and teachers to continue unchecked. According to Jay, administrators minimized complaints, dismissed concerns, and in some cases allegedly destroyed evidence related to serious incidents, including sexual harassment at Levi Fry Intermediate School.
Jay says she raised concerns directly with school leadership, including the principal at Blocker Middle School, but saw no meaningful action. She now plans to go public and involve the media, stating she will also pursue legal charges related to a student bullying incident. “Teachers should never be verbally abusive, and bullying should never be covered up,” Jay said, adding that parents should not feel forced to remove their children from school just to keep them safe.
Her message has resonated across the community. Dozens of parents responded, sharing similar experiences of bullying, harassment, and dismissive treatment by school staff. Several parents said their children transferred schools, graduated early, or pursued GED programs due to ongoing abuse. Others described teachers humiliating students in front of peers or administrators downplaying serious incidents as overreactions.
Community members encouraged documentation, legal action, and escalation to school boards and media outlets. Many called for parents to unite, arguing that collective pressure may finally force accountability and reform.
Jay says her goal is simple: real change. “If we stand together,” she said, “our voices will finally be heard, and our kids will be protected.”
