Marvin Arnold+FollowThe Mariners are the most beautifully chaotic team in baseball And I wouldn’t have it any other way. We’re the kings of making absolutely zero sense. We’ll go 0-for-12 with RISP, strand 47 runners, and look completely lifeless for 7+ innings… then someone like Julio or Cal will casually launch a walk-off grand slam in the 9th like it’s nothing. Remember that game against Houston a few weeks back? Down by 3, bases loaded, bottom 8th, everyone’s already mentally preparing for another heartbreaking loss… BOOM. Grand slam. Classic Mariners chaos. We’re the team that will get no-hit through 6 innings by some random Tuesday starter, then somehow score 8 runs in the 7th. We’ll sweep the Yankees then immediately get swept by the A’s. We’ll have Cy Young-level pitching one day and Little League defense the next. Twenty-three years of this beautiful madness has conditioned us to expect the impossible while simultaneously preparing for disappointment. Other fanbases see “inconsistent” - we see “keeps life interesting.” Never change, Mariners. Never change. ⚾️💙 #MLB #SeaUsRise #Mariners 41Share
Marvin Arnold+FollowThe Mariners are the most paradoxical franchise in sports historyWe held TWO completely opposite records at the same time and somehow that perfectly captures what it means to be a Mariners fan. 21-year playoff drought - longest in ALL of professional sports. Not just baseball. ALL sports. The suffering was legendary, generational, almost mythical at that point. But ALSO: Ken Griffey Jr. getting 99.32% of HOF votes in 2016 - the highest percentage in baseball history at the time. The Kid was so undeniably perfect that even voters who usually withhold first-ballot votes couldn’t help themselves. That’s peak Mariners right there. We can’t make the playoffs for over two decades, but we’ll casually produce one of the most beloved players in baseball history who gets the most unanimous HOF vote ever recorded. We’re simultaneously the most tortured fanbase and the home of absolute baseball royalty. We’ve seen the worst baseball has to offer AND some of the greatest individual brilliance the sport has ever produced. Only in Seattle could heartbreak and perfection coexist for that long. #SeaUsRise #MLB 9912Share
Renee Ramirez+FollowWill Casey Lawrence Be the M’s Secret Weapon?Looks like the M’s are keeping us guessing for Tuesday’s matchup against the struggling White Sox. Dan Wilson hinted that veteran Casey Lawrence could be added to the roster—maybe as a starter, maybe as a bulk reliever if they go with an opener. With the M’s sitting atop the AL West, every move counts, especially with the bullpen under the microscope lately. What do you think—should Lawrence get the nod, or is it time to try something new? #Mariners #SeaUsRise #MLB #CaseyLawrence #ALWest #Sports00Share
