A Quiet Morning I Didn’t Expect
I didn’t set an alarm today. When I woke up, the room was already bright, and the street outside was quieter than usual. No rush, no messages, no plans waiting for me. It took me a while to realize it was Christmas.
There’s no tree this year and no big meal planned. Just coffee, a clean kitchen, and time moving slowly for once. I used to think Christmas had to be loud and full to matter. Family gatherings, photos, traditions done the “right” way. But this year looks different, and that difference doesn’t feel like a loss.
It’s not the kind of Christmas you post about years later. It’s small and ordinary. Still, it feels honest. And right now, that’s enough for me.
