My Skin Was a Mess at 12—Here’s What Finally Worked

I remember staring at my reflection, wondering why my cheeks were always shiny but my nose felt dry. If you’re 11, 12, or 13 and totally confused by skincare, you’re not alone. Here’s what actually helps (and what just clogs your pores): 🧼 Gentle face wash, twice a day—no scrubbing, no harsh scents. Your skin will thank you! 💧 Gel or water-based moisturizer keeps your face comfy, not greasy. Look for words like “noncomedogenic.” 🧴 SPF 30+ every morning—even if it’s cloudy. Sun damage is sneaky! 🍏 Snack on fruit, not fries. Your skin shows what you eat. Your skin is unique—don’t stress if it’s not perfect. My Face Was Flaking Off—Here’s What Actually Saved My Skin

Woke up to skin so dry it looked like I’d been dusted with powdered sugar. If you know the struggle, let’s get real about what works (and what’s just hype): 🧴 Gentle Cleansing: Toss anything with fragrance or alcohol. I switched to a creamy, soap-free cleanser and my skin stopped screaming. 💧 Moisture Lockdown: Pat—don’t rub—your face dry, then layer on a thick, oil-rich moisturizer while your skin’s still damp. Bonus: a dab of pure aloe or a honey mask for extra rescue. 🌬️ Humidifier Magic: Running a humidifier at night made my bedroom feel like a spa, and my skin thanked me. 🍊 Skin Food: Upped my water and vitamin C (hello, oranges and bell peppers) and cut back on wine. My glow came back. Dry skin isn’t just a winter thing. What’s your go-to trick for keeping your face soft? #skincarejourney #dryskinfix #beautyroutine #facecare #skintips #Beauty #Skincare

Frownies Smell Like the Underworld — How Do You All Tolerate This?! 😂

Alright y’all, I (33F) finally gave in and tried Frownies to help with my faint forehead lines and 11s between Botox appointments. And let me tell you... I was not prepared. First of all, the smell. Everyone said they smell like postage stamps or envelope glue — and honestly, I envy you. To me, it was like soggy papier-mâché dredged straight from the depths of the underworld. Even Hades himself would be questioning the stench. 😵‍💫 Slapping them onto my forehead felt like pressing wet, cursed paper to my skin. The smell didn’t really dissipate once they dried, and yes, I even woke up in the middle of the night still smelling them. Removing them? Nightmare part two — rewetting them reactivated the entire olfactory horror show. 😂 To make matters even more chaotic, my dogs were obsessed with them. They woke me up early with their faces in mine, trying to lick the Frownies off like they’d found forbidden treasure. One of them even went full detective mode — counter-surfing (which she never does!) just to try to sniff them out. The upside: I do think they helped a little with my 11s. I’m going to try again tonight with rose water spray instead of plain water and maybe add a few more patches for my forehead. But if I can’t survive another night glued to these smelly things, I might have to try Smoothies like some of you recommended. (P.S. I’m allergic to silicone and sensitive to adhesives — even KT tape gives me a rash — so any non-silicone suggestions are very welcome!! 💜) Serious question though: HOW do you all tolerate the smell?! Is there a version that doesn’t stink this bad?? I’m super sensitive to scents and these are roughhh 🤢 #FrowniesExperience #WrinklePatchStruggles #BeautyFails #RealLifeBeauty #SkinCareJourney #PostBotoxCare #SensitiveSkinProblems #DogsVsFrownies

9 Months of Skincare Progress

Just realized it’s been 9 months between these two photos, and I’m honestly thrilled with the results. 😊 I first noticed my forehead wrinkles in my late 20s, and when I turned 35, I decided to do something about them. Because my skin is dry and sensitive, I started by repairing my skin barrier. Once I focused on hydration and barrier support, everything else seemed to work better. Here’s the simple routine I’ve stuck to: ☀️ Morning Cleanser: The Ordinary Glucoside Foaming Cleanser Serum: The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Moisturizer: The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA Ceramide cream: COSRX Comfort Ceramide Cream SPF: Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun SPF 50+ PA++++ 🌃 Night Makeup remover: Bioderma Atoderm Cleansing Oil Cleanser: The Ordinary Glucoside Foaming Cleanser Serum: The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Moisturizer + ceramides (same as morning) Actives: Rotate retinoid (Granactive 2%), vitamin C, and hydration-only days. It’s been slow and steady progress, but seeing these changes makes me so glad I stuck with it. #SkincareJourney #BeforeAndAfter #WrinkleWorries #AntiAging #30sSkinCare #HydrationIsKey #SkincareProgress
