Scott’s Seafood - A Seafood Place with Strong Artistic Atmosphere.

This classic seaside restaurant, located in Jack London Square, has been around since 1976, and it gets high praise online! First and foremost, the ambiance is fantastic. Outdoor views of blue skies, white clouds, the sea, and yachts, while the interior is filled with beautiful art and sculptures. There's even live piano music that gets you in a relaxed mood before you start eating! Secondly, the quality and taste of the seafood dishes are unbeatable—rich in color, aroma, taste, yet they aren't keen on experimentation; the menu has stayed pretty constant over the years. They also offer Brunch every Sunday from 10:00am-2:30pm, which is a big hit with the local residents! Now, having gone over the highlights, let me introduce some dishes we had this time: *Scott’s Oyster Rockefeller, Pic 4, $30! It's the signature appetizer and totally worth it! They use 6 juicy Blue Point Oysters, topped with fresh spinach and green anise Hollandaise sauce then baked (not char-grilled). The oysters are clean, the top is crisped with a torch to give a charred crunchiness, then the inside is filled with a thick savory sauce. The oyster meat is firm and gives a fresh and slightly sweet aftertaste. Highly recommend this dish! Scott’s Calamari, Pic 5, $25. These are the usual fried squid rings, nothing extraordinary, but they zest things up with a touch of white wine and lemon juice for a refreshing taste. Crab Avocado Salad, Pic 6, $33. This salad is really good, with the sweet flavor of crab, the creamy avocado, and crisp greens – it’s perfect! Crab Salmon, Pics 7/8, $40. Tender salmon served with smooth crab meat strands is simply yummy! They've got the Salmon Festival in July with two types of salmon to choose from: Pacific Wild King Salmon and Atlantic Farm-Raised Salmon. My friend chose the Pacific one because we think the colder Pacific waters off California make fattier salmon. My advice is to order both main dishes and make a comparison. #ScottsSeafood #ArtisticAtmosphere #ClassicSeasideRestaurant #SeafoodDishes #SundayBrunch #OysterRockefeller #Calamari #CrabAvocadoSalad #CrabSalmon #SalmonFestival

Wat Mongkolratanaram • Berkeley Thai Temple Brunch Market

Had an incredible experience at the bustling temple morning market today! This Thai temple in Berkeley offers a brunch from 10am-1pm every Sunday. Unlike other food courts, you don't need to spend a lot to enjoy specialty Thai meals here [Shy]! Process: Once you enter the temple, exchange cash for tokens, then go to various food stalls according to your taste and queue for meals! If you don't spend all your tokens, you can exchange them back to cash when you leave! My dining experience ($23 tokens): *Picture 7, $10, Thai style deep-fried sweets. The little white balls are with coconut flavor, the fried cakes are yam flavor. Moderately sweet, and even though it's fried, it's not oily! *Picture 8, $11, wide noodles beef soup. Cooked on site, also has the option for thin noodles. The soup is hearty and the meat is plentiful; but the downside is, the soup's a bit salty! *Picture 9, $2, Thai iced tea. Both coffee and Thai iced tea are $2, bottled water is $1. Can't complain for that price – just enjoy your drink [LOL]! Summary: The cost is around $20-$25 per person. After the meal, you can also visit the temple for worship. The crossover of food and culture is worth the experience! 📍Wat Mongkolratanaram 1911 Russell St, Berkeley, CA 94703 #WatMongkolratanaram #BerkeleyThaiTempleBrunchMarket #TempleMorningMarket #ThaiFood #FoodAndCulture #BerkeleyCA #FoodieExperience #SundayBrunch
