Christ Follower+Follow Jesus warned that tradition can make the Word of God “of no effect.” That should sober us. Tradition is not automatically evil, but when man’s teaching, denominational loyalty, church culture, or inherited belief is treated as higher than Scripture, truth gets buried. The danger is not always open rebellion. Sometimes it looks religious. Sometimes it sounds familiar. Sometimes it has been repeated so long that people stop testing it by the Word. But God’s Word does not need our traditions to protect it. Our traditions need God’s Word to correct them. Return to the Word. Return to truth.
