Why Do We Creep at Green Lights? My Daily Commute Frustration

Every morning, I notice the same thing at busy intersections: the light turns green, but each car waits for the one ahead to get way ahead before moving. By the time I reach the front, the light is red again! I get wanting to be safe, but if we all eased off the brake and inched forward together, more of us could make it through.
