Chasing Peaks, Missing the Point

Thirteen hours. Ten peaks. Somewhere outside Tokyo, my legs stopped hurting and my brain just... emptied. I kept waiting for the summit high, the big moment where everything clicks and you feel like you’ve done something huge. Instead, it was just me, counting steps, watching the city fade and come back again. No one tells you that sometimes, the more you push, the less you feel. Jet Lag, Dirt Trails, and No Reset Button

I landed in Seattle running on three hours of sleep and the kind of adrenaline that makes you think you’re invincible. Instead of checking into my hotel, I drove straight to Rattlesnake Ledge. The trail was muddy, my shoes were wrong, and every step felt like I was chasing some version of myself I thought I’d find at the top. The view was perfect, but I wasn’t.
