why do shower shoes take up so much space?
Every time I pack for a trip, I find myself staring at my old pair of flip flops, debating whether they really deserve a spot in my suitcase. I mean, I absolutely refuse to step into a hotel or gym shower barefoot—just thinking about those slippery, mystery stains gives me the creeps. But here’s the thing: those flip flops are only for the shower, and yet they somehow manage to hog more space than my favorite sweater.
Last week, I even tried stuffing them into the side pocket of my bag, but they still stuck out awkwardly. It feels ridiculous to dedicate precious luggage space to something I use for five minutes a day, but the alternative (bare feet on those tiles) is just not happening.
Has anyone actually found a pair of shower shoes that fold up, roll up, or just don’t take up half your bag? I’ve seen those disposable ones at spas, but they always seem flimsy. I want something that’s easy to pack, but won’t fall apart after one use. Why is it so hard to find a decent option for something so basic? I can’t be the only one who feels like they’re playing Tetris with their suitcase because of a pair of shower shoes.
