Living With Parents Who Gave Up On Life 😳🤦♂️
I’m 29, living in Chicago, and I moved out a decade ago. But my parents—married since they were teens—are still stuck in the same old rut. They work, come home, and just melt into the couch, night after night. No friends, no hobbies, nothing but endless movies. It’s like they’ve given up on living, and honestly, it drives me crazy.
Sometimes I wonder if their lack of passion for life is why they’re always suspicious of each other. I’ve caught them snooping through each other’s phones, asking about old friends, and even accusing each other of cheating—just because they have nothing else going on. I feel angry, helpless, and annoyed every time I visit.
How do you deal with watching your parents waste away, and how do you rebuild trust when suspicion fills the silence? Seriously, does anyone else feel this way? Help me out, because I’m losing my mind here! 😩🙃🤷♂️
