Last night, my daughter confided in me that she doesn’t feel safe around some members of our extended family. Hearing her say that broke my heart, but I’m grateful she trusts me enough to share her feelings. As a parent, I want her to know her emotions are valid and that her sense of safety comes first, even if it means having tough conversations with relatives.
