I was at the Marlins-Braves game at Truist Park on August 9th, and they introduced the umpire crew. Usually, nobody really pays attention, but this time was different. When they announced Jen Pawol's name, the whole stadium erupted into a standing ovation. She was making history right there on the field, becoming the first woman to ever umpire a Major League game. It felt like one of those moments that you see in movies, but it was all happening right in front of me.
