Mochi Waffle - Sticky Rice Waffle & Purple Yam Coffee
Found this waffle shop in Mountain View, South Bay! It's full of Southeast Asian vibes: colorful leaves, purple yam, taro, mango, and more! Let's briefly chat about my first-visit experience:
*Mochi Waffle
▶️Waffles are common, but what stands out about this place is its sticky rice waffle, making it pretty unique! $7.5 for a combo or $4.25 individually! I first tried the $7.5 Oreo colorful leaves waffle combo. The combo means adding whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and other toppings to the base waffle. Personally, I think adding these extras over-complicates and richens it; I'd recommend the $4.25 individual waffle more. Many flavors to choose from, crispy on the outside and sticky on the inside, with just the right level of sweetness. Especially yummy when fresh from the oven!
*Ube Coffee & Mango Mojito
▶️ Purple yam lovers should try the purple yam coffee. The top layer of purple yam milk cap is thick and sweet, and the bottom coffee layer tastes like Vietnamese coffee and is also very sweet. But weirdly, even though it's sweet on sweet, it's not too sweet. It leaves a pleasant taste in your mouth, and you'll want more after you finish, believe me!
▶️ Ordered a Mango mojito for the mango lovers. It's sour and sweet at the beginning, leaving a refreshing minty aftertaste. Quite good! The only downside was that 75% sweetness was too sweet. Lowering to 50% would have been better!
In summary, the flavors are OK, the colorful drink menu is unique, prices are reasonable, and per person cost is less than $10. Definitely a worthwhile street-side shop to stop by!
