A Cozy secret Japanese-Style Yakitori Restaurant in San Francisco

Noren Izakaya is a hidden gem where you can gather with friends and enjoy an authentic Japanese atmosphere. The hand-drawn menu is charming, featuring illustrated chicken skewers and various dishes that pique my interest. Compared to other izakayas, the menu here is not extensive, but the quality is good. I highly recommend the Spicy Kimchi Stir-Fried Pork, as the tangy kimchi complements the skewers well. The Grilled Chicken Skin is incredibly crispy and the crispiest I've ever had. The Sashimi is optional and nothing to write home about. As for the Yakitori skewers: - Almost all of them are delicious, especially the ones with organ meats. - The grilled mushrooms are flavorful and tasty. - The grilled scallops are a must-try, they are huge! - I had high expectations for the Bacon-wrapped Mochi, but it turned out to be way too salty. - The Beef Tongue is fantastic! It has a tender and crispy texture. - Even the simplest Chicken Wings are incredibly delicious! Overall, this place is perfect for a casual gathering with friends, with its authentic Japanese style and attention to detail that captures the essence of Japanese culture. The bar area itself exudes the same charm. #BayAreaLife #WeekendInBayArea #GlobalFoodies #Yakitori #BayAreaCuisine #SiliconValleyFood #FoodieLife #ProductRecommendation #JapaneseGrilledBird #JapaneseIzakaya #MustVisitYakitoriRestaurant #HiddenGem

My friend doesn’t want me to post this hidden gem but…

🍣 Hamano 📍 1332 Castro St, San Francisco, CA 94114 - The official description calls it a lowkey Japanese restaurant and it was indeed discovered! Before, while doing aromatherapy candles and eating Russian cuisine nearby, I accidentally came across this really inconspicuous Japanese restaurant. I thought it was just ordinary home-cooked food, but it turns out they offer omakase according to their official website. With a curious mindset, I made a reservation. It turned out to be a hidden gem of a place! - Among the few restaurants that serve a lot of Japanese food, this is one of them. It has a simple, slightly old-fashioned decor style. There are very few bar seats, only for customers who reserve omakase. The head chef is quite efficient, managing everything and chatting with the customers cheerfully. - The food is truly homely with a touch of finesse, and the ingredients are unexpectedly delicious! Moreover, many of the ingredients are directly imported from Japan, which I never expected to find here! The spot prawns are incredibly fresh! I can have three portions of Hokkaido abalone! And this crab, it's truly beautiful and generously served! - Towards the end, I was really full, very full, very full. The slices of raw fish on each nigiri were really big and substantial. Such sincerity! I would definitely come back again! Lastly, I was pleasantly surprised by their udon noodles. I never expected them to be so delicious. I could just come here next time just for a bowl of udon noodles.🙂 #BayAreaLiving #WeekendInBayArea #GlobalFoodieSquad #JapaneseFoodExploration #JapaneseCuisine #Foodie #WeekendExploration #HiddenGems #APlaceThatHasBeenDiscovered #Exploration #BayAreaCuisine

OMG Please try This Spicy Chicken Burger before you die😱

🍔The Bird 📍 115 New Montgomery St, San Francisco, CA 94105 📍 406 Hayes St, San Francisco, CA 94102 ▫️As someone who doesn't often eat fast food, I am willing to make a trip to SF's downtown just for this spicy chicken burger! It deserves to be worshipped and should not be missed! ▫️I've been a fan for years and have ordered takeout from them several times during the pandemic. There isn't a single item I don't love! ▫️Fried Chicken Sandwich: A must-try! You can choose the level of spiciness, so if you can handle it, go for spicy! Experience the joy of juicy chicken bursting with spicy oil! It's absolutely heavenly! And the chicken is super tender and juicy! Highly recommended👌 ▫️Chicken Biscuit with Tots: A good combination with small and tasty biscuits and a side of tater tots. ▫️Naked Bird: Just fried chicken, you can choose the level of spiciness. It's already cut into pieces, making it easy to eat! It's so satisfying! If you don't like bread, you can order this directly! ▫️Fully Loaded: French fries topped with lots of cheese sauce and bacon crumbs. If you don't count calories, this is a taste bomb! It's so delicious 😭😭 Order it all! Curly fries are relatively bland, so I recommend getting this one! ▫️Hot Wings: You can buy them individually or in pairs. They are large wings with plenty of meat. Delicious! #BayAreaLife #BayAreaFood #WeekendInBayArea #Burgers #Foodie #FoodieDiaries #PopularFoodOnRedBook #MyFoodDiary #FastFood #SpicyChickenBurger

Bay Area Food | Thai Breakfast with Tom Yum Soup Congee and Youtiao

🍲 Kan Kiin 📍 201 Southgate Ave, Daly City, CA 94015 ▫️ The newcomer to the Bay Area's Thai breakfast scene is definitely eye-catching, with its deep green color scheme and modern decor. The combination of Thai breakfast style and contemporary design is impressive, although the taste may not be as outstanding as expected. ▫️ The aesthetics are on point, from the utensils to the food itself. I love their simple yet stylish tableware collection. ▫️ We tried some of the recommended dishes, but feel free to explore other options. The dishes are decently prepared, nothing too extraordinary or disappointing. ✅ "JOK" Crispy Pork Belly The Tom Yum flavored congee is a must-try! Especially on a cold winter morning, it warms both the heart and stomach. The tangy and savory rice porridge paired with Youtiao is a delightful combination. It gives me inspiration to recreate this as my own breakfast! ✅ "HAT YAI" Fried Chicken & Vanilla Waffle Although it claims to be Thai-style fried chicken and waffle, there isn't a distinct Thai flavor. It's simply a regular fried chicken and waffle, decent but lacking any strong uniqueness. It feels a bit off considering it's supposed to be Thai breakfast. ▫️ One downside of this place is that it's quite cold inside... 🥶 Even after eating, it doesn't warm up. Lately, it seems like every restaurant I go to is freezing, not sure if it's just me... 🥶 #BayAreaLife #GlobalFoodies #WeekendInBayArea #Breakfast #ThisIsWhatIEat #MyBreakfast #WhatToEatForBreakfast #BayAreaCuisine #HiddenGemRestaurants #SanFranciscoFood

Weekend in the Bay Area | Napa Hot Air Balloon Trip 🎈 🎈Sunrise

🎈 Hot Air Balloon trip in Napa Valley. We set off just after 4am – all of this for a hot air balloon trip, go figure~ We got to see a gorgeous sunrise. Sadly, our camera couldn't fully capture its beauty. To remember the stunning views, we shot several mini videos too 📷 Flying over the colorful hot air balloons, you can see the extending mountain ranges and picturesque vineyards. The whole world seems to turn beautiful. The sunrise in Napa Valley definitely makes my top 3 sunrises. The soft morning sunlight shining bit by bit into the valley, lighting up the lush green landscape, whether it be vineyards or grassland. The sky is filled with colorful hot air balloons hovering high and low. It's beyond beautiful, simply magnificent. When you just take off, you can still clearly see the ground, houses, fields, roads, and vehicles. Things slowly start to blur as you ascend higher, then you can view all of Napa Valley's wineries, look up north to see Mt. St. Helena, west to see the Vaca Mountains, and you can barely make out San Francisco from the south~ The balloon ascends as the sun gradually rises, the entire valley gets illuminated – it's picturesque, like a scene straight out of a fairy-tale. The balloon operators will maneuver the balloon to view different sights. 🎈 After a little more than an hour of flying, we landed in a field. The sun was fully up by this time, leaving behind beautiful shadows. Upon landing in the field, we saw people jogging in the morning. The sunlight at that moment was absolutely dreamy, we simply couldn't look away. The shadow of the balloon coupled with the rustic scenery, every picture was postcard perfect. 🌟 Practical tips: You'll usually need to book your hot air balloon trip in advance. It's best to reserve a few weeks ahead, they're super popular! In Napa Valley, many local travel agencies specialize in hot air balloon trips. #WeekendInBayArea #NapaHotAirBalloonTrip #SunriseViews #NapaValleyBeauty #HotAirBalloonAdventure #BucketListExperience #FairyTaleScenery #PracticalTips

🥘So Gong Dong Tofu House 📍 4127 El Camino Real, Palo Alto, CA 94306 ▫️ I've seen recommendations for this Korean tofu pot with fish roe in both Xiaohong🍠 and Dealmoon's circle. I had to try it! After hiking nearby, I quickly came over! ▫️ I realized after coming here that I've been to this tofu pot place several times before the pandemic, and it really is a delicious tofu pot. Let's have it again, this time back at the familiar place. ▫️ We arrived very early and sat outside. The inside is also open. Later it became packed with people. They have their own parking lot here, with plenty of parking spaces, very convenient. 🥟 Dumplings and Spicy Beef Soup Love it! This is my favorite dish. I like this combination. I recommend getting it extra spicy, refreshing! The combination of beef slices + glass noodles + dumplings, etc. is rich and satisfyingly spicy! 🥘 Fish Roe Tofu Pot Personally, I think it's just average. I prefer the normal-flavored tofu pot. The fish roe is a bit fishy, and the overall texture feels strange. I usually like eating fish roe, but I'm not a big fan of this tofu pot and fish roe combination. 🍗 BBQ Chicken Very substantial! I thought there would be a lot of onion side dishes or something, but what came was a big portion of grilled chicken! Tender and flavorful👍 🍜 Korean Stir-Fried Mixed Vegetables with Glass Noodles I really love this dish. It can be eaten as a main course, just casually. It feels like a low-calorie meal if you eat it with grilled chicken and go easy on the oil. #WeekendInBayArea #BayAreaLife #BayAreaFood #BayArea #TofuRecipes #XiaohongBookPopularFood #Food #FoodDaily #WeekendFoodie #MyFoodDiary
