My Cat Thinks I’m a Hero (So Maybe I Am)
Ever notice how your pet looks at you like you’re the most competent human alive? This morning, my cat, Mochi, watched me try (and fail) to open a stubborn jar of peanut butter. Did she judge me? Nope. She just blinked slowly, curled up on my lap, and purred like I’d just solved world peace.
It’s wild how pets have this unshakable faith in us. I could mess up a million times, but Mochi still believes I’m the best thing since catnip. So, on days when life feels like a series of epic fails, I try to see myself through her eyes: someone who’s got this, even if the peanut butter wins sometimes.
If your pet thinks you’re a hero, maybe you are. Or at least, you’re their hero—and honestly, that’s enough for today.
