SNAP Review Delays: How Do I Keep Living?

I’m an unemployed young adult living in upstate New York, relying on SNAP and part-time jobs to get by. Since the shutdown, the welfare office has told us that benefit reviews could be delayed and support might be reduced or postponed in November. I pushed my cart to checkout and got the “insufficient funds” message. Standing behind others, I thought: If I can’t pay for this food, how do I face tomorrow?
