Or maybe it’s called dependency? There’s a huge difference between addiction and needing prescribed medication for quality of life. Addiction is harmful, compulsive use that ruins lives—dependency is a managed medical need under a doctor’s care. Nobody calls a diabetic ‘addicted’ to insulin—they’re dependent. Same with nerve pain meds: it’s treatment, not a moral failing. Everyone’s body is different; what works for one person may not for another. That’s why there are warnings and doctors overseeing it.
