Welcome to Coco's Heart Cub! Cub is an adult male Pomeranian with a fluffy coat and striking eyes that make him truly stand out. At about 16 pounds, he’s a little bigger than the typical Pom, but that just means there’s more of him to love. Cub is a gentle, shy boy who really thrives with other dogs around. In fact, he will require a home with another dog, big or small, because he finds comfort and confidence in canine companionship. Watching him follow the lead of a dog friend is the sweetest thing. Since arriving in rescue, Cub has been making great progress. He does well in his kennel, has learned to use the stairs to go outside for potty breaks, and is continuing to improve with potty training every day. With consistency and encouragement, he’s well on his way. He will need practice with walking on a leash, so a secured area where he can go potty would be important in the meantime. Cub’s beautiful coat is easy to maintain and doesn’t mind being brushed, which is a nice bonding activity with him. What Cub needs most is a patient, loving home that will give him the time and reassurance he needs to keep building confidence and feeling safe. Welcome to Coco's Heart Kayla! She is a beautiful 7 month old French Bulldog with a heart of pure gold. She is such a sweet and loving little lady who adores snuggling with people and is doing great in a foster home with other dogs, cats, and a young kid. Check out this adorable update on how Honey the chihuhua/mini poodle mix (best guess) is doing in her foster home as she waits to find her forever! "We dare you not to fall in love with this sweet girl. We’ve only had her for a week but Honey has already snuggled her way into everyone’s hearts. Breaking the scale at a whopping 4lbs, she plays with dogs ten times her size and doesn’t skip a beat. We have kids ranging from 6 to 14 and she’s great with them and both our dogs. Honey hasn’t met a cat but I assume she’d do great. She’s only 10 weeks old so potty training is still a work in progress but she does great going outside when let out frequently. Honey sleeps in a kennel next to the bed at night and settles in quickly. I work from home so she spends most of the day lounging with her fur friends or chewing on all the toys she can drag around. Foster Needed for Mona! Mona is a 6-year-old pomeranian who arrived to rescue recently and was welcomed by a temp foster. She only weighs 11 lbs - most of her is fluff! She is pretty timid, but once you pick her up she melts into your arms ❤️ She prefers to hang out in her kennel most of the time, but she is getting braver every day. She has picked up on the routine of going potty outside and coexists with the resident dog very well. She came to rescue with cysts between her toes which have been removed, but she needs daily epsom salt foot soak baths to help with the healing. She is very tolerant of this and doesn't mind. Mona is such a sweet girl and we'd love to see her continue to make progress with her confidence. She is learning how to be loved! Meet Muppet. And yes… she really does look like she walked straight off the set of a Jim Henson production. 🎬✨ This 1 year -old Shih Tzu (maybe with a little yorkie ) currently weighs a whopping 3.5 pounds, which basically makes her a living, breathing dust bunny with legs. She’s got floppy fluffy ears, a tiny fluffy tail, and the kind of face that makes people involuntarily say “WHAT is that adorable creature?!” But don’t let the size fool you. Muppet is spunky, happy, and ready for action. She already loves playing fetch and zooming around like a tiny puff of chaos. Because she is so tiny, her future family needs to understand that she’s fragile. A puppy this small can easily be stepped on, sat on, or overwhelmed by rough play, so homes with very rambunctious kiddos may not be the best fit. Muppet came to us because her previous owners were struggling with potty training, so her adopter will need to be patient and committed to helping her learn the ropes of going potty outside. She’s just a baby and needs someone willing to guide her as she grows. Since Muppet will need regular grooming for life, adopters must also provide a groomer reference as part of the application process. Be sure to include it along with your vet reference. Because she is still so tiny, we are looking for a LOCAL foster-to-adopt home while she grows big enough for her spay surgery. Applicants must live in Effingham County or the surrounding area. All other pets in the home must be spayed/neutered, current on yearly vaccines, and dogs must be on heartworm prevention. Once she is spayed, the adoption will be made official. Bella is a 7-year-old female Yorkie mix, approximately 12 pounds, who is in urgent need of a forever home. She is friendly with kids, cats, and other dogs, has a medium energy level, and loves walks, car rides, attention, and cuddling. Bella is house trained, though she may have an occasional accident, so a proper potty schedule would be helpful. She knows some commands, is very eager and sweet, and would make a loving companion.
