Last spring, I never thought my little patch in Dobbs Ferry could grow anything but weeds. I tossed some tomato seeds in a sunny corner, watered them when I remembered, and hoped for the best. To my surprise, those tiny plants exploded into a wild, green mess. I started mulching with old leaves and coffee grounds—turns out, the soil loved it. My neighbor told me to plant marigolds to keep bugs away, and suddenly, my tomatoes were thriving with barely any pests. Every morning, I’d check for new blossoms and pick fresh basil for breakfast. It’s wild how a few simple tricks can turn a backyard into a mini farm. Now, I’m hooked—can’t wait to see what pops up next season.
