58-Year-Old Chef Offered $1M+ Partnership, Completely Lost! 😰

Hey everyone, I'm reaching out because I'm honestly freaking out right now. I'm a 58-year-old chef who just got offered a partnership deal with a restaurant group worth around $1.1-1.2 million. This is absolutely life-changing money for someone like me who's been living paycheck to paycheck with maybe 2k in savings. 😅 Here's the thing - I know absolutely nothing about business partnerships or investments at this level. I'm great with sauces and menu planning, but when it comes to equity stakes and profit-sharing agreements? I'm completely clueless. 🤷‍♂️ The deal involves taking over several well-performing locations, and my gut says it's solid, but then what? How do I even know if this will sustain me long-term? I've got two sons I need to think about too. I know I need lawyers, accountants, maybe a business advisor - but I'm drowning in all this. Has anyone been in a similar situation? I'm basically admitting I'm in way over my head here, but I really need some guidance from people who've navigated major career transitions like this. 🙏 Thanks for listening to my panic rant. Any advice would be amazing! #careertransition #cheflife #businesspartnership

My Business Partner Never Contributes Financially 😤💸

I'm really struggling with my business partner situation and need some advice. I (39M) grew up poor and have been incredibly frugal my whole career, building up $1.2M through careful saving and planning to retire at 45. My business partner (46F) comes from wealth - her family gave her $3M. Even though she has way more money than me, I end up covering 99% of our business expenses. Office dinners, client entertainment, equipment purchases - it all comes out of my pocket. Last year alone, I spent $60K on business expenses that should have been split. Whenever I try to discuss splitting costs fairly, she just doesn't get it. She grew up expecting others to handle the finances. I'm seriously considering dissolving our partnership because at this rate, I'll have to push my retirement back 10 years! 😔 Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? How do you handle a partner who won't contribute their fair share? #BusinessPartnership #WorkplaceFinances #CareerAdvice #JobCareer
